The shockwave handpiece requires periodic cleaning and maintenance to ensure the treatment quality. Due to the nature of shockwave treatment, some components of the handpiece can wear out. Therefore, during treatment, if you find the frequency of the pressure waves changes/stutters, or the bullet is sticking in the tube, or if your unit does not feel/sound consistent, then you should dissemble the handpiece and inspect the revision kit to see if cleaning and replacement is needed. Longest Medical equips each shockwave therapy device with a revision kit. Please watch the video to see how to clean and replace a revision kit and the seals. A new revision kit is designed to last for at least 1 million shocks. With periodic maintenance, your unit should be able to get more shocks without compromising the treatment quality.
